frequently asked questions
+ What should I wear when I am getting spray tanned?
You can wear undergarments, a bathing suit or nothing. Your chosen attire should be whatever you are comfortable with.
+ How long do I need to wait before I shower or workout?
You can not get wet for 8 hours after you get tanned with our classic solution. If you have opted for our rapid solution, you must wait between the 1-4 hours your technician recommends before rinsing. The tan itself takes 10-12 hours to fully develop, therefore we recommend waiting until the next day to workout.
+ How long will my tan last?
This depends on several factors including your skin type, skin cycle, lifestyle, and care. It should last at least between 5-8 days but it has the potential to last longer. The best thing that you can do to increase the longevity of your tan is to keep moisturized (twice a day) and stay hydrated along with following all pre and post care as instructed. Also, try to avoid activities that speed up your skin’s natural exfoliation process. Keep in mind that long showers/baths, hot tubs, heavy sweating, and swimming in salt water and /or chlorine all tend to dry out your skin.
+ What's the difference between the traditional and rapid tan?
The main difference is the rinse off time. Both formulations will offer the same color results and longevity. With the traditional formulation, you will need to rinse in 8. With the rapid formulation, you will need to rinse in 1-4 hours depending on the darkness level you would like to achieve. Please note: With the rapid tan, your color will not be very visible post-rinse and will continue to develop and darken over the next 24 hours.
+ I have very fair skin, will an airbrush tan still look natural?
Yes! We can customize a solution that will work with your specific skin tone. However, if you are new to spray tanning, we suggest selecting a lighter shade for the first session and doing a trial if this is for a special event.
+ Why does my face fade faster?
This is due to several reasons. First, facial skin in thinner than skin found on other parts of the body. The face is also more exposed to the environment and endures more frequent washing. In addition, makeup, anti-aging creams, astringents, etc. tend to break down the tan more quickly.
We recommend purchasing our tanning mousse, gradual tanner, or tan extender to touch up between appointments.
+ I am getting married, when should I get spray tanned?
We highly recommend doing a trial at least 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding. Most brides get their wedding tan 2 days prior to their special day.
+ Will my airbrush tan protect me from the sun?
Unfortunately, it does not, so remember your SPF. Be sure to pick up one of our spray tan friendly sunscreens after your appointment.
+ Can I get a spray tan if I have a sunburn or my skin is peeling?
This might be the one time that we recommend that you’d don’t get a spray tan. Oh, and wear sunscreen next time!
+ How long until the tan develops?
You will see instant color due to the cosmetic bronzer however the actual tan takes 9-12 hours to fully develop. With the regular tan option you cannot sweat or get wet until that time or you risk washing off the spray tan! With the rapid tan option you will rinse in 1-4 hours (determined at your consultation) but full color still takes 9-12 hours to fully develop and color for both will continue to darken over the next 24 hours.

Some acceptable clothes are: • Sundress • Loose sweat pants • Loose t shirt or tank top • Loose shorts • Flip flops Unacceptable clothes are: • Yoga Pants • Jeans • Tight spandex tops or bottoms • Clothes with elastic waist bands • Socks • Sneakers • Closed shoes or boots
